The IR technology in the HDP IR 2550 lets you send remote control commands to all of your home theater components through your PowerCenter via IR emitter cables. This gives you a new level of remote control precision and reliability that not only widens the arc of your remote controls, but also extends remote control reach even behind solid wood or metal AV cabinets where remote signals would typically be blocked.

Even better, there's an included external IR receiver that lets you keep all of your AV components and the PowerCenter completely out of sight for an elegant, clean home theater look that lets the décor speak for itself. Now you don't have to look at distracting AV components and blinking lights when you're watching a movie or just relaxing.

Microprocessor-Controlled T2 Circuitry Takes Protection a Step Further
T2 automatically disconnects the PowerCenter itself and your equipment from both live power lines (line and neutral), and reconnects ONLY when power levels are safe. Unlike other surge protectors, T2 will NOT sacrifice itself when a potentially damaging power overload hits, and keeps on protecting with no reduction in performance.

Monster Tri-Mode Provides Advanced Surge Protection and Safety
Patented Tri-Mode circuitry uses relays, MOVs, and thermal fuses to protect against dangerous power surges, dips and spikes that can travel over all three power lines (Line, Neutral, Ground). When it senses dangerous power conditions, Tri-Mode automatically disconnects AV components and sounds an audible alarm, letting you know that HDP IR 2550 has protected your AV components.

Front panel AC power outlet and the USB ports provide convenient power connections for camcorders, portable media players, etc., and are easily accessible for use at any time. A door covers the front power ports when they are not in use and gives the unit a clean, neat look.

The HDP IR 2550 is also PLC (power line communications) compatible, allowing you to set up a home AV network using existing AC power lines. There's no need to run cables inside walls or along molding.
