The Elite BDP-53FD, with armored chassis construction that includes a layered chassis, center-mounted tray, rigid mechanical base, and QDEO video processor with 2 HDMI outputs, features Pioneer’s new Sound Retriever Link and Stream Smoother Link. The Sound Retriever feature enhances compressed audio files by filling in data lost during the compression process, while Stream Smoother enhances compressed video files to reduce compression noise and establish more detailed, finer images.

For convenient control of the home theater system, Pioneer’s free iControlAV2 App turns various smartphones and tablets into fully functioning remote controls for the BDP-53FD. When your player is connected via Ethernet to a wireless router, the app allows users to control basic functions of the players.
